William W. Wortman, Sr., 78, of 1067 Johnsonburg Road, St. Marys, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at his home.
He was born November 6, 1936 in St. Marys, son of the late Andrew and Lorena Benninger Wortman. He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Marys Schools. He was a retired employee of Clarion Sintered Metals.
On December 27, 1958, in the First Baptist Church in Johnsonburg, he married Marjorie Steudler, who survives. He is also survived by a son, William W. Wortman, Jr. of St. Marys; three grandchildren, Casey Pratt and her husband Philip, Cari Wortman, and William Wortman, III; and three great grandchildren, Philip Pratt, McKayla Pratt, and Marcos Aiello.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 10 sisters, two passing away in infancy; and six brothers, two also passing away in infancy. He was the last member of his immediate family.
Mr. Wortman was a member of the St. Mary’s Church. He loved carpentry, hunting, bird watching, gardening, and especially spending time with his family.
There will be no visitation.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service to be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Friday, April 24, 2015, at 11:30 AM, with the Rev. Alfred Patterson, OSB, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
