William J. Sorg, 72, of 185 Center Street, Elk Towers, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at his residence.
He was born September 14, 1942 in St. Marys, son of the late John and Rosemarie Gausman Sorg. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1960. He was a former employee of Sorg’s Auto Repair, E & G Auto Parts, and the Stackpole Corporation.
He is survived by a daughter, Lorra Olson of DuBois; a son, Matthew Day of Toby; two grandchildren, Steven Olson and Jessie Olson; a sister, Grace Olson of St. Marys; two brothers, James J. Sorg and his wife Victoria of St. Marys and George T. Sorg and his wife Barbara of Kersey; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry Sorg, Benedict Sorg, and Edward Sorg; and by a nephew, Roger Sorg.
Mr. Sorg was a member of the PFL, the American Legion, the CMF, and he had served in the US Army.
There will be no visitation.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service to be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, officiating. Full military rites will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail.
