Travis J. Young

Travis J. Young, 42, of 139 Woodland Road, St. Marys, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Penn Highlands DuBois.

He was born March 12, 1981 in St. Marys, son of John Young (Sandy Prechtel) of St. Marys and Joan Prechtel Thompson (Kevin) of Custard City.  He was a lifelong resident of the area, a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, Class of 2001, and employed at Jet Metals for 21 years.

On January 6, 2022, in St. Marys, Travis married Sarah M. Mineweaser, who survives.

In addition to his loving wife and parents, Travis is survived by his children, Cami and Wesley Young; three step-children: Grace, Emily, and Megan Armagost; his sister, Amanda Prechtel; nieces and nephew: Tori Prechtel, Marissa McGonnell, and Dominic Thompson; great-nephews: Elijah Prechtel, Orion Tyger, and Malachi Lindenmuth; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Arlene and Raymond Prechtel, and his paternal grandparents, Alice and Kenneth Young, Sr.

Travis was a committed father for his children and the youth of the area, coaching several years for Stallions Football.  He was always around if anyone ever needed a helping hand.  He enjoyed the camaraderie of cornhole with Titan Cornhole and organizing cornhole events for the Elks Club.  He was a fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins and San Francisco 49ers but was the biggest fan of his two children, Cami and Wes, always doing his best to attend every event in which they participated.

A Memorial Service for Travis will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at 6:00PM with Rev. Scott Wiest, officiating.

Visitation will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 from 4:00PM until the time of service.
