Theodore M. Schneider

March 19, 1936 — November 28, 2025

Theodore M. Schneider, 89, of 1245 Million Dollar Highway, Kersey, passed away peacefully with his family by his side Friday, November 28, 2025.

He was born March 19, 1936 in St. Marys, son of the late Leo and Anna Mertz Schneider.  He was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1955.  Following high school, Ted served two years as military police in the United States Army and after sixty years, he retired as a property manager in 2000.

On September 1, 1962, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ted married the late Veronica H. Hoffman, who preceded him in death on December 17, 2010.

Ted is survived by his children: Lisa Schneider Yebernetsky (Carl) of DuBois, Douglas Schneider (Heather) of Ridgway and Scott Schneider (Bridget McDonough) of Pittsburgh; two grandchildren: Dr. Kyle Yebernetsky (Jessica) and Katlyn Yebernetsky (Eric Routch); two step-grandchildren: Josh Mercer and Dodi Black (Eric); four great-grandchildren: Oaklyn, Henry, Laurel, and Brooks; his twin brother, Timothy Schneider (Wanda) of St. Marys; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, Ted was preceded in death by five sisters: Margaret Sadley Carpenter, Marian Roberts, Elizabeth “Betty” Struble, Dolores Arnold, and Orma McKeon; and four brothers: William, Thomas, Richard “Dick”, and John “Jack” Schneider.

Ted took great pride in his home, camp, and yard, always finding joy in keeping each place welcoming and well cared for.  Whether tending to the lawn, making improvements around the house, or spending time at camp, he poured his heart into the spaces he loved.  Above all, he loved his family and nothing brought him more joy than his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He cherished every moment with them-celebrating their milestones, sharing stories, and offering steady guidance and endless affection.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Boniface Church, 355 Main Street, Kersey, PA 15846 on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at 10:00AM with Rev.
