Shirley D. Feidler

Shirley D. Feidler, 93, a resident of Pinecrest Manor and formerly of 602 South Michael Street, St. Marys, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Pinecrest Manor.

She was born June 5, 1931, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Anthony and Ruth Schauer Detsch.  She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School.

On February 27, 1960 in Queen of the World Church, she married the late Norman F. Feidler, who preceded her in death on July 19, 2018.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Leidwinger (Gary) of St. Marys; two sons, Anthony Feidler of Kersey and Kimberly Feidler of St. Marys; three grandchildren: Eric (Stacy) Leidwinger, Nathan (Leah) Leidwinger, and Lucas Feidler; and three great-grandchildren: Gavin, Sydney, and Addison Leidwinger; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Shirley was preceded in death by three sisters: Doris Hoffman, Corrine “Peggy” Rohrback, and Erma Opeka; and her brother, Robert “Bud” Detsch.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Shirley was a private person with a strong faith in God and set an example of kindness.  She was a member of Queen of the World Church where she would attend Mass regularly.  Shirley loved cats and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  She cherished each opportunity to be with her family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Queen of the World Church on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at 12:00PM with Rev. Jeffery Noble, Pastor, celebrating.  Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held privately.
