Shirley L. Bauer, 80, of 345 Grant Street, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at Penn Highlands Elk.
She was born August 19, 1935, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Edwin A. and Genevieve Coyle Robison. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys High School, Class of 1953. She was a former employee of the Keystone Carbon Company, the St. Marys Public Library, and retired from the St. Marys Community Nurses in 1997, after 29 years of service.
On June 2, 1956, in the Sacred Heart Church, she married Kenneth S. Bauer, who survives. She is also survived by two sons, Shawn Bauer and his wife Mary of St. Marys and Aaron Bauer and his wife Joyce of St. Marys; five grandchildren, Sarah Bauer, Lauren Bauer, Abbey Bauer, Jennifer Bauer, and Jessica Bauer; three great grandchildren; and by several nieces and nephews.
Shirley was a member of the Sacred Heart Church. Her hobbies included crafting, camping, playing cards, baking, and candy making. She loved spending time with her family and friends and going out for Sunday breakfast bunch. Shirley was the ultimate hostess for all occasions.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Friday, January 22, 2016, at 1:00 PM, with the Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
