Sara Jane Beimel, 70, of 686 Shelvey Summit Rd., Kersey, passed away Sunday (7/27/14) at her residence after an illness of the past year. She was born December 25, 1943, in Ridgway, daughter of the late Kathryn Thomas. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys High School, class of 1961. She worked for many years as a beautician at her shop and also served as secretary of Jireh Lanes in Kersey, which her family owns.
On September 1, 1962, in the St. Boniface Church, she married Harold C. Beimel, who survives. She is also survived by a son Hal Beimel and his wife Kelly of Ridgway, 2 granddaughters, Isabella Beimel and Haddie Mae Beimel and by many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Beimel was a member of the Hallton Church of Christ. She was an artist. She spoke and did inspirational chalk drawings. She traveled to many countries touching many lives with messages and drawings of chalk art. Her ministry also extended to the local nursing homes. She enjoyed being with her family especially her granddaughters.
Funeral services for Sara Jane Beimel will be held in the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 16915 Boot Jack Rd., Ridgway, PA, with Pastor Ron Burkett officiating, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday (7/30/14). Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Ridgway. Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5:00-8:00 PM.
