Rose C. Mattivi

October 24, 2018 — August 25, 1927

Rose C. Mattivi, 91, a resident of Silver Creek Terrace and formerly of 100 Cuneo Road, Kersey, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at Penn Highlands DuBois, after a brief illness.

She was born August 25, 1927, in Kersey, daughter of the late Jerome and Theresa Gahr Copella. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Kersey High School, Class of 1946.  Rose was a former employee of Kantar’s Department Store, the Stackpole Carbon Corporation, and she also worked in the cafeteria at the Ridgway Hospital.  Rose was a member of the St. Boniface Church.

On November 10, 1956, in the St. Boniface Church, Rose married Bruno J. Mattivi, who preceded her in death on February 14, 2018.

She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Donachy and her husband Paul, and Diana Brennen and her husband Brian, both of St. Marys; a grandson, Ryan Thomas; two great grandchildren, Paris and Talon Thomas; two sisters, Geraldine “Jean” Mattivi of Raleigh, NC and Barbara Schatz and her husband Donald of St. Marys; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Rose was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary, in childbirth; two sisters, Rita Greenwalt and Romaine Shannon; and by a brother, Gerald Copella.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Boniface Church on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at 1:00 PM, with the Rev. Ross Miceli, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held in the St. Boniface Church Gathering Space on Saturday from 12:00 PM until the time of Mass.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the St. Boniface Church, 355 Main Street, Kersey, PA 15846, or to the Silver Creek Terrace, 791 Johnsonburg Road, St. Marys, PA  15857.
