Ronald A. Posteraro

Ronald A. Posteraro, 60, of McDonald, PA and formerly of St. Marys, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021, peacefully at his home with his family by his side, after a courageous battle with his brief illness.

He was born April 21, 1961, in St. Marys, son of the late Samuel and Naomi Berardi Posteraro. Ron was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, Class of 1979 and continued his education at the University of Pittsburgh where he studied Metallurgical Engineering. He was an employee of the Naval Nuclear Laboratory as Principal Engineer Materials Application and Product Assurance and was well loved and respected by his colleagues.

On February 6, 1999, in Latrobe, Ronald married Namthip Pongudompean, who survives.

He is also survived by one son: Aaron Posteraro of South Fayette Township, PA; two brothers: Joseph Posteraro (Patty) of St. Marys and Denny Posteraro (Donna) of St. Marys; by six nieces and nephews: Stephanie Posteraro, Celeste Wilson, Melanie Brouse, Erica Hayes, Lynn Pahl, and Mark Posteraro; and by many great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

Ron was a member of St. Alphonsus Church. He enjoyed camping and all outdoor activities especially with his son and close friends. He was dedicated to his work but always had time to spend with his family that he loved.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Queen of the World Church on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Kevin Holland, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home.
