Robert L. Robinson, 81, of 146 Wehler Road, St. Marys, passed away unexpectedly Monday, October 30, 2017, at Penn Highlands Elk.
He was born September 12, 1936, in Benezette, son of the late Leo and Mary Shaffer Robinson. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Benezette School, Class of 1954. He was an employee of the Stackpole Carbon Company, which later became Carbone of America. He retired from Carbone in 1998, after 44 years of service.
On January 10, 1959, in the St. Joseph’s Church in Force, Robert married Arlene Rossi, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Cindy Annis and her husband Phil of Kersey; a grandson, Jeremy Annis of St. Marys; a brother-in-law, Harwood Newell of DuBois; and by nephews.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by a daughter, Robyn L. Robinson, who passed away August 19, 2017; and by a sister, Ilene Newell. He was the last member of his immediate family.
Robert was a member of the St. Marys First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. Robert loved to spend his Sundays watching NASCAR races and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
There will be no visitation.
Funeral and Committal Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
