Robert D. Neal, 70, of 185 Plum Road, St. Marys, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, September 8, 2012 at the home of his daughter surrounded by his family.
He was born March 14, 1942 in Big Run, PA, son of the late Wilbur and Edna Lyle Neal. He attended Big Run Schools and had been a resident of St. Marys since 2008. He was a retired electrician.
On June 8, 1963, he married his first wife, Gail Stark Weather, who preceded him in death on March 31, 1973. On February 15, 1975, he married his second wife, Cynthia Duke, who also preceded him in death on April 8, 2012.
He is survived by a daughter, Leslie Neal of St. Marys; five sons, Robert Neal of St. Marys, Brian (Mary) Neal of Port Allegany, Jack Shaw of St. Marys, Justin Shaw of St. Marys and Shawn Neal of Port Allegany; 29 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Dorothy Hill of North Tonawanda, NY and Janet Thomann of North Tonawanda, NY; and five brothers, Lyle (Hilary) Neal, Charles (Joyce) Neal, Richard Neal, Mark (Judith) Neal and Brian Neal, all of North Tonawanda, NY.
Besides his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Roller, who passed away September 27, 2003; and by one grandson,
Steven Glatt, who passed away June 8, 2011. Mr. Neal enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
Funeral services will be held at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Scott Weist officiating. Burial will follow in the Clermont Cemetery. Full military rites will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Monday evening, September 10, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
