Raymond F. Nussbaum, 78, of 383 South St. Marys Street, St. Marys, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, September 18, 2022, at his residence.
He was born July 19, 1944, in St. Marys, son of the late Frank J. and Walburga “Wally” Eckl Nussbaum. Ray was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Elk Christian High School, Class of 1963. He was a former employee of the Stackpole Carbon Company and retired from Windfall Products in 2006.
Ray is survived by his sister, Dorothy “Bunny” Fox of St. Marys; his brother, Edward Nussbaum (Gloria) of St. Marys; and by his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and one great-great-nephew.
In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Hoffman.
Ray attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He loved shooting and collecting guns, golfing, and gambling. He was an avid watcher of the “Price is Right”. Ray will affectionately be remembered as the “Candy Man”, as he was always ready to hand out a piece of candy to family and friends.
There will be no visitation.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Friday, September 23, 2022, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Thomas More Sikora, OSB, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a favorite charity of one’s choice.
