Ralph E. Anderson

Ralph E. Anderson, 80, of 311 Coal Hollow Road, Kersey, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at UPMC Altoona.

He was born August 6, 1936, in Kersey, son of the late Harry and Cora Meredith Anderson. He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Kersey Schools.  Ralph was a retired self-employed carpenter.

On August 16, 1954, in Maryland, Ralph married Joyce P. Palmer, who survives. He is also survived by three daughters, Darla Anderson of Dagus Mines, Brenda Anderson of Kersey, and Sheri Shrefler and her husband Jerry of Kersey; three sons, Ken Anderson and his wife Pamela, Randy Anderson and his wife Sue, and Tom Anderson and his fiancée Roxanne, all of Kersey; 11 grandchildren, Kristi Liptak, Mike Anderson, Jeff Luchini, Ashley Rigard, Tanya Imbrogno, Ronnie Stebick, Alicia Herbstritt, Levi Anderson, Nykita Anderson, David Anderson, and Brianna Anderson; 17 great grandchildren; two sisters, Vernetta Rossi of Florida and Maxine Hallgren and her husband Dick of Maryland; and by a brother, Stan Anderson and his wife June of Kersey.

Ralph was a member of the United Carpenters Union #947 of Ridgway since 1966. He owned and operated St. Marys Floors with his sons.  He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and he enjoyed shooting with the “Over the Hill Gang” at the Ridgway Rifle Club.  Ralph loved his wife, children, and grandchildren and was very helpful to his family.  He enjoyed traveling in his motor home, camping, hunting, having company over, and spending time in his garage.

There will be no visitation.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service to be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Saturday, December 17, 2016, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Brad Brunner, pastor of the Faith Baptist Church in St. Marys, officiating. Burial will follow in the Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
