Priscilla A. “Teddy” Sterbank, 97, a resident of Pinecrest Manor and formerly of Cedar Road, Kersey, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at the Pinecrest Manor after a brief illness.
She was born November 20, 1915 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Joseph and Kathryn Stockman Rigard. She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Sacred Heart School. She was a former employee of Sylvania in St. Marys.
On April 25, 1937 in the Sacred Heart Church, she married John J. Sterbank, who preceded her in death on April 29, 1992.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol Kuntz and her husband Edward H. of St. Marys and Catherine Wendel and her husband Richard A. of McKees Rocks; three sons, John D. Sterbank and his wife Veronica of Kersey, Daniel J. Sterbank and his wife Jane of Kersey and Joseph B. Sterbank and his wife Mary Pat of Syracuse, NY; 20 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Evelyn Moriarity, Valerie Sulkowski and Eileen Wortman; and three brothers, her twin brother, Cletus Rigard, Gervase Rigard and Melvin Rigard. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Sterbank was a member of the Queen of the World Church where she served as Eucharist Minister, a member of the CD of A and the Queen of the World Rosary Altar Society. She was an avid bowler, was always willing to help others and especially enjoyed being with her family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Queen of the World Church on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Michael Ferrick, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Friday, March 1, 2013, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
