Paul Horchen, Jr., 88, of 406 Maple Street, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2015, at his residence.
He was born November 23, 1926, in Wilcox, son of the late Paul and Anna Mehalko Horchen, Sr. He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Wilcox schools. He was a retired employee of Penn Tech Papers, where he had worked for 44 years.
On May 30, 1953, in the Sacred Heart Church, he married Clare “Babe” Bucheit, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Mary Ellen Frank and her husband Raymond of St. Marys; two sons, James E. Horchen and his wife Laura of St. Marys and David P. Horchen and his wife Sallie of St. Marys; six grandchildren, Charles Frank, Corey Frank, Emily Kleps, Abigail Horchen, Kyle Horchen, and Jaclyn Horchen; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Katie Horchen of Wilcox and Anna Olson and her husband Gale of Kane; and two brothers, Frank Horchen and his wife Bonnie of Johnsonburg and Charles Horchen and his wife Gladys of Alabama.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Marrone; and a brother, Michael Horchen.
Paul was a member of the Queen of the World Church and was a veteran of the US Navy, having served in WWII. He was also a member of the St. Joseph’s Society, the CMF, and was a member and past president of the St. Marys Senior Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Queen of the World Church on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at 12:00 PM, with the Rev. Alfred Patterson, OSB, as celebrant. Full military rites will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10:00 until 11:30 AM.
