Patsy Assalone, Jr., 86, of 110 Hoffman Road, Kersey, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, after a lengthy illness.
He was born January 29, 1932, in Weedville, son of the late Patsy and Jean Queri Assalone, Sr. He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Weedville Schools. Patsy was a retired employee of Stackpole/Carbone, retiring with over 40 years of service and drove for Muccio Bus Lines for 19 years.
On July 25, 1959, in the St. Mary’s Church, Patsy married Audrey R. Hoffman, who survives. He is also survived by two sisters, Sandra Streich and Minnie Gralak, both of Weedville; his loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law.
In addition to his parents, Patsy was preceded in death by a sister, Loretta Lanzel; and by a brother, Cletus Assalone.
Patsy was a member of the St. Boniface Church and the Quarter Century Club of the Stackpole Carbon Company. He was also a member of the Sinnemahoning Sportsmen’s Club, the Bennetts Valley Senior Center, a social member of the Bennetts Valley American Legion, and a member of the Old Timers Baseball League. Patsy was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he loved sports.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Boniface Church on Friday, February 23, 2018, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Ross Miceli, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Thursday, February 22, 2018, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM.
