Patrick T. O’Donnell, 79, of 322 Russ Lane, St. Marys, passed away peacefully with his family by his side Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Rebecca Residence in Pittsburgh, PA.
Pat was born May 7, 1946 in St. Marys, son of the late Edward M. and Rose “POE” Wehler O’Donnell. He was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Elk County Christian High School, Class of 1965. He furthered his education at St. Vincent College, where he earned a degree in Political Science, graduating in 1969. Pat spent his working career as a rehabilitation counselor for the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation for Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He spent his career helping people with disabilities find work and independence.
On May 31, 1969, in Holy Rosary Church, Pat married Mary Anne Bliskey, who survives. The two of them met in high school and were blessed to share fifty-six years of marriage.
In addition to his loving wife, Pat is survived by his daughter, Bridget Rose Healy and her husband Sean of Pittsburgh and his granddaughter, Meghan Healy and her fiancé, Faith Coole.
In addition to his parents, Pat was preceded in death by his brother, Michael E. O’Donnell. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
From camping and canoeing to fishing and hiking, Pat was a lover of the outdoors and enjoyed sharing it with his family. His adventures with them included trips to the Adirondacks, West Virginia, Glacier National Park, and several other spots. He also had a keen knowledge of history and politics, and a special affinity for railroads inspired by his grandfather, who was a conductor for the Shawmut Line.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the Sacred Heart Church on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at 10:00AM with Rev. Thomas Curry, O.S.B., celebrating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home, 169 Center Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 on Monday, November 3, 2025 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM.
