Patrick J. Fritz, 58, of St. Marys, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2026 at his camp.
He was born September 7, 1967, in St. Marys to the late Gerald “Gerry” and Marilyn Leahy Fritz. Patrick was a graduate of Elk County Christian High School, Class of 1985 where he excelled as a basketball player. He furthered his education at Edinboro University where he earned a degree in accounting. He spent the majority of his working career as a self-employed carpenter, known for his skilled workmanship, attention to detail, and care he put into every project.
Patrick is survived by his wife, Leigh Ann Fritz; daughter, Ellyn Allen and her husband, Cooper; step-sons, Eriq Fritz and Brandon Gunning (Emily); step-grandchildren: Brynlea, Nolan, Ella, and his grandchild on the way in a few weeks; sister, Janet Kent (Jeffrey); niece, Nichole Leahy-Glass (Nathan); nephew, Jacob Kent (Kayla), great-nieces and great-nephews: Evelyn, William, Nora, and Miriam Glass and Theodore and Lyanna Kent; a special aunt, Judy Nolan; and numerous cousins.
An outdoorsman at heart, he embraced every opportunity to be active and enjoy life’s simple pleasures. He loved basketball, golf, time spent around a campfire, and any chance to be outside. He had a rare gift of throwing a frisbee with uncanny accuracy, amazing everyone who watched him. His adventurous spirit and love of friendly competition made him a joy to be around.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 315 Church Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at 12:00PM. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home, 169 Center Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 on Thursday, June 25, 2026 from 10:30AM until 11:30AM.
Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to a favorite charity of one’s choosing.
