Patricia M. Wickett, 88, a resident of Silver Creek Terrace, passed away Sunday, August 22, 2021, at Silver Creek Terrace, after a brief illness.
She was born May 27, 1933, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Alfred and Frances Meyer Gleixner. Patricia was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1951. She worked at various places, including Sylvania, BiLo, and the Keystone Carbon Company.
At Fort Belvair, Virginia, Patricia married Raymond Wickett, who preceded her in death on May 1, 1990.
Patricia is survived by her son, Daniel Wickett (Fran) of North Carolina; her daughters: Linda Baker (Lynn) of St. Marys; Peggy Anderson (Doug) of St. Marys, Cynthia Barnard (Dr. Marcus) of St. Marys, Sandra Cowan of Tampa, FL, and Victoria Aaron (Dr. Trudy Peterman) of Altoona; 11 grandchildren: Amanda Sweat, Nichole Cowan, Rebecca Malloy, Daniel Wickett, Joey Muccio, Anthony Muccio, Jesse Baker, Samantha Shevitz, Scott Anderson, and Sarah Anderson; and by 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Phyllis Daly of DuBois; her brother, Wayne Gleixner (Carol) of Mt. Gretna, PA; and by two sisters-in-law: Patricia Gleixner of St. Marys and Alicia Gleixner of Naples, FL.
In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her grandson, Jonathan Baker in 2000; her sister, Nancy Nissel; and by two brothers: Willis and Eugene Gleixner.
Patricia was a very active member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was a commentator for 22 years, a member of R.C.I.A., small group discussions, Cursillo, and attended many retreats. She enjoyed learning about the life of St. Therese of Lisieux and made sure that a rose was placed on the altar every week.
She enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was an avid knitter and made blankets and booties for all the new babies in the family. She enjoyed traveling and playing cards. She spent many hours caring for her many flowers.
There will be no visitation.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at 10:30 AM, with the Rev. Peter Augustine Pierjok, OSB, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
