Patricia O’Connor, 75, St. Marys, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 19, 2026 at UPMC Hamot Hospital in Erie.
She was born June 23, 1950, in Renovo, daughter of the late Donald F. and Rosemary Burkhart O’Connor. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Bucktail High School, Class of 1968. Following high school, Pat earned her nursing degree from Philipsburg State General Hospital School of Nursing and was employed as a Program Director for Pennsylvania Elk Home Services.
Pat was a woman of strength, compassion, and unwavering generosity. Her life was defined by simple but powerful acts of love–a listening ear, a helping hand, a comforting smile. She gave freely of her time and her heart, always putting others before herself. Family, faith, and friendship meant the most to Pat. She shared a special bond with her siblings, Mary Kay O’Connor, Donald O’Connor (Carol), and Mary Lou Johnson, who survive.
Also surviving is her niece, Katie Pomaranski (John); her great-niece, Ava and great-nephew, Matthew; and her dear friend, Sister Mary James, O.S.B.
Pat was a very active member of the St. Mary’s Parish. She dedicated countless hours to her parish family. She faithfully served as a Eucharistic Minister and sacristan, and provided steady leadership as chair of the pastoral council of St. Mary’s Church. Her commitment to her church was a true reflection of her deep and abiding faith.
She was also involved with the Pittsburgh Benedictine Oblates, where she embraced the Benedictine values of prayer, work, and community. In addition, she was a life member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, forming many lasting friendships over the years.
Beyond her service, Pat found joy in traveling and exploring new places, caring for animals, and cheering on her beloved Buffalo Bills.
