Olin Wayne Tucker, Sr.

Olin Wayne Tucker, Sr., 71, of 1050 Theresia Street, St. Marys, passed away Monday, September 14, 2015, at Select Specialty Hospital in Erie after a lengthy illness.

He was born October 11, 1943, in Ridgway, son of the late Joseph Anthony and Virginia Gertrude Fields Tucker. He was a lifelong resident of the area and worked 32 years at Carbon Graphite. When Olin was in his ninth grade of school, his father suffered a very serious injury which prevented him from working. Olin quit school to help his mother support the family and so that his brothers and sisters could have a good education.

On December 26, 1963, in the Sacred Heart Church, he married Sandra A. Fischer, who survives. He is also survived by four daughters, Virginia Singer and her husband Robin of Toby, Georgia Lynn Hoffman of St. Marys, Valerie Sue Tucker of St. Marys, and Kathleen Middleton of Cranesville, PA; three sons, Olin Wayne Tucker, Jr. and his wife Naomi of St. Marys, Clinton John Tucker and his wife Carrie Jo of Dagus Mines, and Anthony Joseph Tucker of Ridgway; 19 Grandchildren, Michael Bowman, Anna Greer, Jonathan Wayne Beimel, Kyle Bradley Beimel, Susan McKinney, Stephanie Tesereau, Mason Hoffman, Ariel Justine Meyer, Cassandra Maletto, Joshua Hnath, Kalib Pritt, Tabitha Largey, Kristin Tucker, Isabella Tucker, Sierra Marie Tucker, Bryson Wayne Tucker, Kayla Joy DeLullo, Josie Elias, and Anthony Joseph Tucker, Jr.; 23 Great Grandchildren, Aliza Greer, Kristen Greer, Kenneth “David” Greer, Brianna Rearick, Zachary Beimel, Jonathan Michael Beimel, Sky Ann Beimel, Kenta Beimel, Abigail Beimel, Maddison Beimel, Keri Beimel, Gavin Beimel, Lynsey Beimel, Kaylin Beimel, David Tesereau III, Matthew Tesereau, Jonathan Michael McKinney, Dani Lynn Redman, Drake Phearsdorf, Nevaeh Angel Clark, Elliott Maletto, Stan Rae Largey, Colton Wayne Largey, and one great grandchild on the way. He is also survived by a sister, Jean Frances Lewis and her husband Lamonte of St. Marys; and two brothers, Daniel Richard Tucker and his wife Mary of Glen Hazel and Joseph James Tucker and his wife Catherine of Johnsonburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Radaelli; a sister, Virginia Marie Ferris; his paternal grandparents, Theresia Glatt Tucker and Jackson America Tucker; and by his beloved maternal grandparents, Florence Hutchins Fields and Horace Raymond Fields who raised him until he was almost four years old and treated him as their very own son.

Olin was a member of the St. Mary’s Church and the American Legion. He was a veteran of the US Navy, helped teach CCD, and was a former member of the Jaycees.

Olin was always a family man. He helped out anyone who needed him. He loved fixing things and was good at mechanics. He enjoyed taking trips and rides so he could see the old neighborhoods. He had a great time always at the Horace Fields Reunions and also at this year’s Jackson Tucker Reunion. He loved his family, friends, and co-workers and was good to all.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Mary’s Church on Friday, September 18, 2015, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Alfred Patterson, OSB, Pastor, officiating. Full military rites will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail. Burial will follow in the Parklawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Thursday, September 17, 2015, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM.
