Norman F. "Bud" Gerber, Jr.

Norman F. “Bud” Gerber, Jr., 74, of 583 Brandy Camp Road, Kersey, passed away Monday, October 25, 2021, at Penn Highlands DuBois, after a lengthy illness.

He was born August 3, 1947, in St. Marys, son of the late Norman F. and Dorothy Petersen Gerber. Bud was a lifelong resident of Fox Township, attended St. Marys Parochial School, and was a graduate of Elk County Christian High School, Class of 1966. He was a retired employee of the Stackpole Carbon Company, retiring after 41 years of service.

On April 7, 1973, in the St. Mary’s Church, Bud married Catherine A. Moore, who survives.

He is also survived by his daughter, Krista Gerber of Kersey; his son, David Gerber and his wife Christine of Kirkville, NY; two grandchildren: Ronan and Tessa; his sister, Dianne Young and her husband Michael of St. Marys; and by his brother, William Gerber and his wife Nancy of Ridgway.

Bud was a member of the St. Boniface Church, where he served as a lector and on the parish council. He also served on the St. Boniface and Elk County Catholic School Boards. Bud liked to hunt and took great joy in woodworking. His greatest joy was his family and he will be missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Boniface Church on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Ross Miceli, Pastor, officiating.

Visitation will be held in the St. Boniface Church Gathering Space on Tuesday morning, from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass.
