Michael P. Neizmik, 87, of 117 Thunder Road, St. Marys, died Friday, December 23, 2011, at the DuBois Nursing Home after a brief illness.
He was born February 12, 1924, in Pittsfield, son of the late Michael and Anna Romanak Neizmik. He attended Warren County Schools and had resided in St. Marys since 1960. He had been employed as an ironworker.
On June 14, 1952, in Irwin, he married Elizabeth (Betty) Klenke, who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Catherine Gerber (Kenneth) of Wilcox; two sons, James M. Neizmik of San Diego, Calif. and Thomas M. Neizmik (Marsha) of Weedville; four grandchildren, Jeanette Paradis, Bethany Eicholtz, Rachel Fledderman, and Carolyn Meiser; two great-granddaughters; and four great-grandsons.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by nine sisters, Martha Mahood, Mary Hansen, Anne Bonnar, Pearl Neizmik, Helen Schauer, Dorothy Chementi, Rose Brown and in childhood Catherine and Sophie Neizmik; and by six brothers, John, Charles, Nickalas, Steve, Harry and in infancy Peter Neizmik. He was the last member of his immediate family.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and was a veteran of WWII, having served in the Army.
There will be no visitation.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass for Michael P. Neizmik to be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Wednesday, December 28 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, Pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
