Mary Grace Zitzler, 87, passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2018, at Pinecrest Manor. She was a lifelong resident of Vine Road in St. Marys.
She was born August 13, 1931, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Gregory and Margaret Nissel Schlimm. She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Marys schools and was a member of Queen of the World parish.
She married Luke Zitzler, on August 21, 1954, at St. Mary’s Church. She is survived by six children, Paula Zitzler of Duncansville, PA, Steven Zitzler (Cindy) of St. Marys, Pam (Mike) Dippold of Columbus, OH, Bridget (Barry) Rucki of Benezette, PA, Susan (Jim) Dippold of Glen Hazel, PA, and Ann (Randy) Hollabaugh of Bradford, PA. Also surviving are two sisters, Dorothy Mulcahy and Ruth Irwin, of St. Marys; and a brother, Harold Schlimm of Wilcox. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Frank Rucki of St. Marys, Andrew Dippold of Phoenix, AZ, Megan Dippold of Pittsburgh, PA, Michelle Dippold of Columbus, OH, Sarah Lindgren of Hookstown, PA, James Dippold of St. Marys, Elizabeth Dippold of Shinnston, WV, Joseph Zitzler of Huntingdon, PA and Jenna Lasko of Dewart, PA; and by five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by three sisters, her twin sister Margaret Eckert, Therese Secor, and Patricia Bauer; and by five brothers, Robert, John, Gregory, Harrison, and James Schlimm.
Mary held several jobs throughout her life, but her favorite was “Gram,” providing a safe and fun after-school place for the grandkids where many, many good memories were made. She was an avid Bingo player, especially in the company of her twin sister, Marg.
There will be no visitation.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held in the Queen of the World Church on Saturday, August 18, 2018, at 12:30 PM, with the Rev. Jeff Noble, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
