Mary Jo Wheeler, 73, of St. Marys, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Saturday, March 21, 2026.
She was born on October 14, 1952, a daughter of the late Sara and Joseph Wolfe. On March 3, 1973, she married the love of her life, Charles Wheeler, who survives.
Mary Jo was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Rebecca (Bob) of Harrison City and Brenda (Matt) of Murrysville; her cherished grandchildren, Lydia and Louie Conner; her siblings, Dan (Lou Ann) Wolfe, Barb Ginther, and Kathy Krug; her brother-in-law, Ray (Lori) Wheeler; and her dear nieces, nephews, and great-niece. She also held a special place in her heart for her beloved grand-dogs, Reese, Rhett, and Wyatt.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Nerino Facchine.
A lifelong resident of the area, Mary Jo was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School and a retired employee of Windfall Products. She was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Church. She enjoyed Sunday drives—often with an expected detour to the casino, shopping, cooking, baking, and sewing in her younger years. Above all else, Mary Jo found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
