Mary Ann Micale, 90, a resident of Pinecrest Manor and formerly of 24634 Bennetts Valley Highway, Weedville, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at the Pinecrest Manor after a lengthy illness.
She was born September 17, 1923 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine Fledderman Haberberger. She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Marys Catholic Schools.
On October 25, 1946 in the St. Mary’s Church, she married William J. “Dude” Micale, who preceded her in death on February 15, 2005.
She is survived by two daughters, Deborah “Debby” Thomas of Weedville and Donna Zimmerman and her husband Richard of Weedville; five grandchildren, Amy Sorg, Darcy Geci, Abbey Zimmerman, Ricky Zimmerman, and Jamey Zimmerman; and eight great grandchildren, Benjamin Sorg, Emma Sorg, Joseph Geci, Gina Geci, Charles Geci, Anna Geci, Alana Pistner, and Jayden Zimmerman.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Rose Marie “Tootie” Dorio, Arlene “Sparky” DeWald, Ethelreda “Blondie” Geyer, and a sister in infancy; and four brothers, Laverne, Charles, LeRoy Haberberger, and a brother in infancy. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Micale was a member of the St. Boniface Church.
There will be no visitation.
Due to the renovations of the St. Boniface Church, family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Queen of the World Church on Monday, December 23, 2013, at 12:00 PM, with the Rev. James Faluszczak, Pastor of St. Boniface Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
