On January 31, 1949 in Lewistown, PA, she married Edward L. Knepp, who preceded her in death on March 8, 1956.

Mary led a remarkable life having served in the United States Army during World War II, receiving the WWII Victory Medal as well as the American Service Medal.  She loved to travel, visiting many of the lower 48 states during her life and living in Hollywood, California with her young family for a number of years.  She was fortunate enough to travel to Mexico, Canada, Italy, England, and finally realized her dream of visiting Ireland in 2007.  She also loved to dance.   Mary was an incredible baker and if you were lucky, you were the recipient of one of her banana breads, undeniably the best recipe ever!

There will be no visitation.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the Sacred Heart Church on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, Pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
