Mary C. Hasselman, 79, of 122 Laurel Lane, Kersey, passed away Monday, November 21, 2016, at Geisinger Specialty Care in Danville, PA, after a brief illness.
She was born February 18, 1937, in DuBois, daughter of the late Joseph “Art” and Jean Rafferty Brennan. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Cameron County High School, Class of 1955.
On June 2, 1956, in the St. Mark’s Church in Emporium, she married Jerome T. “Jump” Hassleman, who preceded her in death on November 19, 2011.
Mary is survived by three daughters, Pamela Mahovlich of St. Marys, Lynn Grolemund and her husband Bradley of Rochester, NY, and Lisa Glass and her husband Harold of St. Marys; seven grandchildren, David Wildnauer, Stephanie Larkin, Melissa Agnello, Christa Picante, Corey Grolemund, Mollie Anzinger, and Andrew Glass; 10 great grandchildren; her best friend, Janet Hasselman of St. Marys; and by several Godchildren including Penny, who showed great compassion toward Mary.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Randy J. Hasselman.
Mary was a member of the St. Boniface Church and the Ridgway Lioness Club. She enjoyed doing crafts, being outdoors, going to Salamanca to the casino, and she loved visiting with her family and her neighbors.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Boniface Church on Saturday, November 26, 2016, at 12:00 PM, with the Rev. Ross Miceli, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Friday, November 25, 2016, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM.
