Mary D. Ehrensberger, 92, a resident of Silver Creek Terrace and formerly of West Creek Road, St. Marys, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Pinecrest Manor, after a brief illness.
She was born June 3, 1926, in Daguscahonda, daughter of the late Frank and Ellen Rebic Supon. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Ridgway Centennial High School.
On April 3, 1947, in the St. Benedict’s Church in Daguscahonda, Mary married Charles Ehrensberger, who preceded her in death on June 23, 1999.
She is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Ehrensberger of Richmond Hill, Canada, Joan Brooks and her husband Bert of New Kensington, and Mary Jo Covac and her husband Jeff of St. Marys; a son, Charles J. Ehrensberger III and his wife Jennifer of St. Marys; four grandchildren, Erin Wehler (Curtis), Joshua Covac (Tracey), Kate Ehrensberger (Mark Simbeck), and Frank Ehrensberger (fiancée Morgan Bucher); four great grandchildren, Gianna Covac, Ryan Covac, Collen Simbeck, and Abigail Simbeck; and by one sister, Betty Gralak of Daguscahonda.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by a daughter, Jean Ehrensberger, Joan’s twin sister, in childhood; five sisters, Alice Metrovich, Catherine Ginther, Margaret Bankovic, Anne Tagliaferi, and Theresa Gerber; and by three brothers, Frank, George, and Max Supon.
Mary was a member of the St. Mary’s Church. She volunteered at the Hospital Resale Shop and was one of the Pinecrest Manor “Workshop Elves”. Mary enjoyed crocheting and reading and she loved to be with her family.
There will be no visitation.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the St. Mary’s Church on Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Peter Augustine Pierjok, OSB, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
