Mary D. Dowie

Mary D. Dowie, 81, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home and formerly of 131 Fairview Road, Kersey, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Elk Haven.

She was born May 19, 1941, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Robert G. and Leah M. Spuller Dowie. Mary was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Kersey High School, Class of 1959. She was a former employee of Carbon City Products and retired from Powdered Metal Products. She was a member of the St. Boniface Church.

Mary is survived by her sister, Leah Sain (Donald) of St. Marys; seven nieces and nephews: Paula Canterino, Robert Campana, Stephanie Wykoff, Robert Dowie, David Dowie, Jerome Sain, and Jackie Means; and by great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John R. Dowie; and by a niece, Lisa Campana Jennings.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Boniface Church on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Kevin Holland, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery.

Visitation will be held in the St. Boniface Gathering Space on Saturday morning, from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass.

Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to the St. Boniface Church, 355 Main Street, Kersey, PA 15846 or to the Maria Lutheran Church, PO Box 136, Dagus Mines, PA 15831.
