Margaret Imboden Kaul, 86, of Das Zip Haus, St. Marys, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2020, after a lengthy illness.
She was born in St. Marys, daughter of the late Harold C. and Doris Archibald Imboden. Margaret graduated in 1953 from St. Marys Public High School and then attended Lycoming College, Class of 1955.
On October 24, 1959, in the Sacred Heart Church, Margaret married Andrew Kaul IV, who preceded her in death on August 26, 2011.
Margaret learned to adapt to a life overseas when her husband accepted a position with Airco Speer to start a new factory in Singapore. She overcame her initial homesickness, flourished, and made lifelong friends from all over the world. Her five years spent living in Singapore sparked a lifelong love of international travel. Margaret was a wonderful hostess who loved great parties full of family and friends. While she wasn’t a good cook, no one could decorate a table as well as her. Margaret loved her family, her dogs, and her garden. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, whom she loved very much.
She is survived by her daughter, Heidi Kaul Krutek and her husband David and granddaughters, Jordan and Woodli Krutek; her son, Frank Kaul II and his wife Jill and grandsons, John and Samuel Kaul; and by her twin sister, Martha Hattman.
In addition to her husband and parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her brother, Howard Imboden; and by her sister, Grace Clark Benjamin.
Margaret and her family would like to thank all of her caregivers over the years as well as all of the staff at Pinecrest Manor for their compassion, kindness, and support.
There will be no visitation.
Private services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Elk County Humane Society, 1029 East Eschbach Road, St. Marys, PA 15857.
