Maidene H. Smisko, 91, a resident of Pinecrest Manor, and formerly of 203 Parkview Road, St. Marys, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at Pinecrest Manor, after a lengthy illness.
She was born July 8, 1927, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Thomas and Florence Adamson Harlan. Maidene was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys High School, Class of 1945.
She is survived by two daughters, Maidene Hackett of Meadville and Margaret Quinn and her husband Dan of Hackettstown, NJ; a son, John C. Hackett and his wife Julie of St. Marys; seven step children; and by many grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Maidene was preceded in death by her husbands, John C. Hackett and Paul Smisko; a daughter, Florence Gerlitz; a sister, Margaret Conway; and by six brothers, James, Thomas, Larry, Harold, John, and David Harlan. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Maidene was a member of the hospital auxiliary and enjoyed taking trips to Salamanca. She loved to garden and play Bingo and was an avid Bridge player.
There will be no visitation.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in the St. Marys Protestant Cemetery.
