M. Jane Lenze, 85, of 498 Daniel Street, Brockport, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2015, at her residence after a brief illness.
She was born May 14, 1930, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Basil and Margaret Bryndel Henry. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys Public High School, Class of 1948. She was a former employee of Sylvania and the Stackpole Carbon Company. She was a retired employee of the former Riverside Grocery Store in St. Marys, retiring after 15 years of service as a cake decorator in the bakery.
On November 22, 1951, in the Sacred Heart Church, she married Robert F. Lenze, who survives. She is also survived by two daughters, Christine Alberg of Brockport and Cheryl Ann Todd and her husband Steven of Colorado Springs, CO; five sons, Timothy Lenze of St. Marys, James Lenze and his wife Karen of Brockport, Jeffrey Lenze and his wife Carrie of Ridgway, Michael Lenze and his wife Bonnie of Salcha, AK, and Randy Lenze and his wife Deloris of Statesville, NC; 11 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Bauer of St. Marys and Frances Kirkland of Hallton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Lenze; and two sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Edwards and Virginia Kincaid.
Mrs. Lenze was a member of the St. Tobias Church in Brockway and the St. Mary’s Church in St. Marys. She was an Oblate of St. Benedict and was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was a professional cake decorator and had taken flying lessons.
There will be no visitation.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the St. Mary’s Church on Wednesday, November 25, 2015, at 1:00 PM, with the Rev. Alfred Patterson, OSB, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to a favorite charity.
