M. Eileen Garbarino, 96, a resident of Pinecrest Manor and formerly of Silver Creek Terrace and Kersey, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at Pinecrest Manor.
She was born February 15, 1921, in Kersey, daughter of the late Fred and Catherine Graney Dollinger. She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Kersey Schools. Eileen was a former employee of Sylvania and the former A & P, Brown’s Boot Shop, Kanter’s Store, and she retired from Mullaney’s Shoe Store.
On October 14, 1942, in the St. Boniface Church, she married William M. Garbarino, who preceded her in death on December 13, 1995.
Eileen is survived by a daughter, Marguerite Garbarino of Kersey; two sons, Ret. Maj. William M. Garbarino, Jr. of Ft. Pierre, FL and John M. Garbarino and his wife Diane of Kersey; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; two sisters, Norma Jean Martin of Frederick, MD and Dorothy Rinnie and her husband Bill of Houston, TX; and by two sisters-in-law, Mae Dollinger of Florida and Ceila Waringa of Clarion.
In addition to her husband and parents, Eileen was preceded in death by a son, Robert L. “Rusty” Garbarino; a sister, Kathleen Caliandro; four brothers, Msgr. John Dollinger, William Dollinger, Jerome Dollinger, and Robert Dollinger; two daughters-in-law, Arlene Garbarino and Gogie Garbarino; and by a sister-in-law, Mary Dollinger.
Eileen was a member of the St. Boniface Church, where she enjoyed singing in the church choir.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Boniface Church on Friday, February 24, 2017, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Ross Miceli, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Thursday, February 23, 2017, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
