Lucy Marie (Schaut) Schneider, 49, of 3744 Old State Road, Daguscahonda, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at her residence, after battling colon cancer the past eight months.
She was born May 13, 1969, in St. Marys, daughter of the late James and Rosemary Scanish Schaut. She was a lifelong resident of the area, a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, Class of 1987, and also a 1992 graduate of Penn State University, with an Administration of Justice Degree. Lucy was a former office manager at Fisher Insurance Agency and the Elk County Probation/Parole Department, and was currently the secretary/administrator of the Grace Episcopal Church in Ridgway for the past 20 years. She enjoyed camping, antique shopping, decorating for holidays, and spending time with her family.
On September 9, 1995, in the Grace Episcopal Church, Lucy married Michael J. Schneider, who survives. She is also survived by a step daughter, Nicole Iozzo and her husband Christopher of Johnsonburg; a step son, Joshua Havrda and his wife Kelly of Erie; and by a grandson, Jordan Iozzo. Also surviving are three sisters, Jennifer Catalano and her husband Ron of Ridgway, Mary Gleixner and her husband Rick of St. Marys, and Patricia Schaut and her partner Aaron Weinkauf of St. Marys; two brothers, James Schaut, Jr. of St. Marys and Timothy Schaut and his wife Dene Smith of Altoona; her father and mother-in-law, Michael and Dorothy Krise Schneider of Daguscahonda; two brothers-in-law, Timothy Schneider and his wife Diane and Bradley Schneider and his wife Susanne, both of Daguscahonda; and by numerous nieces and nephews, Rebecca Gleixner, Victoria Gleixner, Joshua Gleixner, Renee Catalano, Emily Catalano, Maria Catalano, Nicholas Smith (Ricci), Kacey Kowalski (C. J.), Allison Schneider, Jayden Gustafson, and Jonah Schneider.
A Funeral Service will be held in the Grace Episcopal Church in Ridgway on Friday, November 16, 2018 at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Alan Coudriet, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Force.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Thursday, November 15, 2018, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM, and on Friday morning from 9:30 until 10:00 AM at the Grace Episcopal Church.
