Lorenzo J. “Larry” Cortinovis, 92, of 202 Evers Avenue, St. Marys, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2014, at the DuBois Nursing Home after an illness of the past several months.
He was born May 29, 1922 in Coal Hollow, son of the late John and Jennie Carrara Cortinovis. He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Kersey Schools. He was a retired employee of Carbon City Products, retiring in 1984 after over 20 years of service.
On April 15, 1950 in the Sacred Heart Church, he married Loretta J. Hoffman, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Diana Lawless (Homer) of Yuma, AZ; a son, David Cortinovis of St. Marys; two grandchildren, Krista Phillips (Dustin) and Jennifer Lawless; two great grandchildren, Madison and Max; a sister, Rose Oreka (Nick) of Kersey; a brother, Maurice Cortinovis of Coal Hollow; and by nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Amelia Rigard.
Mr. Cortinovis was a member of the St. Mary’s Church. He was a wonderful husband and father and loved to hunt.
There will be no visitation.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the St. Mary’s Church on Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Alfred Patterson, OSB, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to a favorite charity.
