Kenneth M. Meier

Kenneth M. Meier, 75, of 112 Haggerty Road, St. Marys, passed away with his family by his side Sunday, January 4, 2026 at his residence.

He was born December 15, 1950, in St. Marys, son of the late Alvin J. and Alice Pichler Meier.  He was a lifelong resident of the area, a graduate of Elk County Christian High School, Class of 1968 and a graduate of St. Vincent College in 1972.  He furthered his education, earning his Master’s Degree in Mathematics.  Ken started his career with Keystone Carbon Company in the Engineering and Research Department.  He later joined the ownership team at Advanced Thermal Products, where he retired in 2008.  Ken committed his time outside of his career as a member of the St. Marys Water Authority for thirty-five years and was an adjunct professor with Penn State DuBois in the Math Department.

On October 11, 1975, in Queen of the World Church, Ken married Marijo Burden, who survives. They were blessed to share fifty years of marriage this past year.

In addition to his loving wife, Ken is survived by his daughters: Emily Kneidel (Matthew) of Pittsburgh and Rachel McQuone (Brian) of Erie; his sons: Mathias Meier (Erin Skelley) of North Huntingdon and Justin Meier of St. Marys; six grandchildren: Jacob and Colleen Meier; Connor and Caleb McQuone; and Nicholas and Alex Kneidel; and two brothers: Daniel Meier of St. Marys and Mark Meier of Lincoln, NE.

In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Meier.

Ken was a lifelong learner with a sharp mind, generous spirit, and a wide range of passions.  He was an educated and thoughtful man that believed strongly in the power of teaching and sharing knowledge.  He had a gift for explaining ideas and encouraging others to grow, he took great pride in helping people learn.  He was an avid baseball enthusiast and enjoyed woodworking.  He found peace and purpose transforming raw materials into objects of beauty and function.

Above everything else, Ken was a family man.  His greatest pride and joy came from his family, whom he supported, guided, and loved deeply.  He believed in showing up-whether for milestones, everyday moments, or quiet conversations.  His presence provided strength, wisdom, and warmth to those closest to him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, PA 15857 on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 10:00AM with Rev. Jeffery Noble, celebrating.  Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home, 169 Center Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 on Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 4:00PM until 6:00PM.
