John R. “Wrangler” Levenduski, Sr.

John R. “Wrangler” Levenduski, Sr., 82, of 667 Pontzer Avenue, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at the Elk Haven Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

He was born August 8, 1932, in Byrnedale, son of the late Frank and Anna Gabor Levenduski. He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Byrnedale schools. He was a retired employee of the Keystone Powdered Metal Company and was an employee of the former Penn Bank.

On November 7, 1959, in the Sacred Heart Church, he married Carol Wykoff, who preceded him in death on December 5, 1989.

He is survived by three daughters, Karen Lenze (Jim) of Brockport, Michele Braun (Pete) of St. Marys, and Cynthia Wonderly (Rich) of Kersey; four sons, John R. Levenduski, Jr. (Donna Rusnock) of Byrnedale, Michael A. Levenduski of St. Marys, Noel F. Levenduski (Bonnie Anderson) of St. Marys, and Andrew W. Levenduski (Alicia) of St. Marys; 11 grandchildren, Benjamin John Levenduski, Callie LaRocca, Frank Braun, Scott Braun, Jenna Braun, Brooke Levenduski, Hannah Levenduski, Derik Wonderly, Torri Wonderly, Andrew Levenduski II, and Austin Levenduski; two great grandchildren, Claire Levenduski and Aiden LaRocca; a sister, Paula Posteraro of St. Marys; and two brothers, Joseph Levenduski (Doris) of Byrnedale and Edward Levenduski (Janice) of Byrnedale.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy O’Leary; and by a brother, Francis Levenduski.

John was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion, 40et8, VFW, PFL, St. Joseph’s Society, was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and was a former member of the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Saturday, July 25, 2015, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, Pastor, officiating. Full military rites will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM.
