John D. “Jack” Bowser

John D. “Jack” Bowser, 69, of 312 John Street, St. Marys, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2013, at the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

He was born December 9, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late Thomas Bowser and Agnes Schriner Bowser.  He was a graduate of DuBois High School, Class of 1962 and had been a resident of St. Marys since 1991.  He retired from the US Air Force in 1984, and was a former employee of American Protective Services and Walmart.

In May of 1993, in DuBois, he married Mary M. Chase, who survives.  He is also survived by two daughters, Victoria Clifford and Nicole Bowser, both of Panama City Beach, FL; a son, John Bowser of Panama City Beach, FL; a step-daughter, Stephanie Asalone of Salt Lake City, UT; a step-son, Martin Asalone of Baldwin, NY; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Lindemuth and Sahlee Courson; and a brother, George Bowser, who died in infancy.  He was the last member of his immediate family.

Mr. Bowser was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, the Vietnam Veterans of America #720, the American Legion, and the Disabled American Veterans.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Thursday, August 29, 2013, at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Ananias, OSB, and the Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, Pastor, concelebrating.  Full military rites will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail.  Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 28, 2013, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
