JoAnn Stauffer, 85, of 384 W. Creek Road, St. Marys, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at her residence.
She was born October 9, 1940, daughter of the late Herbert L. and Cecelia Garbic Schloder. JoAnn was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1958 and spent the majority of the years between 1958 and 1999 with Deposit Bank as head teller.
On September 17, 1960, in Queen of the World Church, JoAnn married Andrew “Andy” W. Stauffer, who survives. They were blessed to share sixty-five years of marriage.
In addition to her loving husband, JoAnn is survived by daughters: René Stauffer of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Rhonda DelViscio (Darrin) of Media, PA; son, Randy Stauffer (Pam) of St. Marys; six grandchildren: Carly (Josh), Sydnie (Ryan), Sabrina, Katrina, Devin, and Dayton; and three great-grandchildren: Wrenlee, Miley, and Lenna.
In addition to her parents, JoAnn was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert “Buzzy” Schloder. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
JoAnn was a faithful parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where she would volunteer her time with the bereavement lunch committee. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, where she was recently recognized for being a member for fifty-five years. JoAnn cherished the deep friendships with the ladies and enjoyed calling Bingo at Elk Haven Nursing Home with them.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 10:00AM with Rev. Ignatius Camello, O.S.B., celebrating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
