Joan H. Leidwinger

Joan H. Leidwinger, 81, a resident of Pinecrest Manor and formerly of Johnsonburg, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Pinecrest Manor.

She was born June 1, 1944, in Ridgway, daughter of the late Edward and Marie Brechtel Sosmiski.  She was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School and a parishioner of Holy Rosary Church.  On August 8, 1964, in Holy Rosary Church, she married the late Eugene A. Leidwinger, who preceded her in death on October 14, 2021.

Joan is survived by her daughter, Renee Cunningham (Donald II) of St. Marys; her son, Scott Leidwinger of St. Marys; two grandchildren, Raelyn Cunningham and Maranda Leidwinger; two great-grandchildren, Rowan O’Dell (her boy) and Abel Cunningham (her dude); and numerous cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, Joan was preceded in death by two granddaughters: Saige O’Dell and Paige Leidwinger.

Joan was proud of the family that she and Eugene raised.  She spent her spare time cooking, knitting, sewing, and quilting.  She loved her cats and referred to them as her fur children.

A funeral service will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home, 169 Center Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 on Monday, October 13, 2025, at 10:30AM with Rev. Jeffery Noble officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery.

Visitation will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Monday morning, from 9:30AM until the time of service.
