James Brown, 90, of 129 Fourth Street, St. Marys, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Elk Haven Nursing Home.
He was born May 22, 1935 in Johnsonburg, son of the late James B. and Rachel Winters Brown. Jim attended Johnsonburg schools and was employed at Stackpole Carbon Company. He enjoyed being an assistant coach for the little league baseball teams which his sons played.
On September 19, 1952, Jim married Elaine Fitch, who survives. They were blessed to share seventy-three years of marriage together.
In addition to his loving wife, Jim is survived by his daughter, Mary Jayne Mercer (Jerry) of Salisbury, NC; his son James K. Brown (Barb) of St. Marys; eight grandchildren: Jimmy, Amanda, Jamie, Samantha, Ronnie, Kenny, Jeff and Tisicka great-grandchildren: Rylie, Brynn, Gavin, Hailey, Rachel, Eli, Trace, Chance, Gabriel, DeAngelo, Kristin, Elijah, Tatianna and Daysa.
Jim is reunited with his son, Terrance “Terry” Brown, who preceded him in death in 1998.
He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church. He loved hunting, fishing and gardening.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Sacred Heart Church on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at 10:00AM with Rev. Ignatius Camelo, O.S.B. celebrating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Visitation will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home, 169 Center Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 from 8:30AM until 9:30AM.
Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to a favorite charity of one’s choosing.
