James R. Aloi, 90, of St. Marys, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at Penn Highlands Elk.
He was born January 12, 1932, at his childhood home in Clermont, son of the late John and Esther Sample Aloi. Jim moved to the area in 1968 and graduated from Mt. Jewitt High School in 1950. He was proud of his service to our country during the Korean Conflict as a member of the United States Army. He spent 25 years with Loblaws and had an ownership interest with Corbett Cabinet for 20 years.
On August 23, 1952, in Cuba, NY, Jim married Joan I. McCaa, who preceded him in death on April 26, 2005.
He is survived by two daughters, Karen Aloi (Rebecca) of Butler and Janice Wright (Richard) of Ridgway; two sons, Mark Aloi (Karen) of Weedville and Charles Aloi (Donna) of St. Marys; four grandchildren: Joseph (Tyler), Jami (Abbi), Emily (Robby), and James (Taylor); and one great-grandchild, Myla.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by one daughter, Cheryl Aloi; and a brother, Ralph Aloi.
Jim was a member of the Sacred Heart Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was incredibly proud of his family and cherished each moment with them. He will be missed.
Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Friday, September 16, 2022 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 17, 2022, with the Rev. Thomas Curry, OSB, Pastor, officiating. Full Military rites will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
