Irma B. Erich, 96, a resident of Pinecrest Manor and formerly of 615 North St. Marys Street, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Pinecrest Manor after a brief illness.
She was born June 19, 1918 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Benninger Erich. She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Marys Schools. She was a retired employee of Stackpole Carbon Company, retiring with over 40 years of service and had worked at her family’s farm, the Joseph Erich farm, for many years.
She is survived by a sister, Ruth Trumble of St. Marys; two nieces, Gay Cassidy and Sandra Reider; and by great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Edna Kastner and Alice Cassidy; a brother who died in infancy; and a niece, Elaine Auman.
Irma was a member of the St. Mary’s Church. She loved to sew, make braided rugs, and being outdoors.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Mary’s Church on Saturday, November 1, 2014, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Alfred Patterson, OSB, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Saturday morning from 8:30 until 9:30 AM.
