Imelda S. Frey, 93, a resident of Pinecrest Manor, passed away Friday morning, February 22, 2013, after a lengthy illness.
She was born June 22, 1919 in Kersey, daughter of the late George and Anna Leismeister Auman. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Kersey High School. She was employed as a seamstress for the Hour Glass Dry Cleaners for 20 years.
On October 6, 1938 in the St. Boniface Church, she married Jerome G. Frey, who preceded her in death on September 27, 1999.
She is survived by four daughters, Janet Nelson and her husband Louis of Johnsonburg, Louise Winslow of Medix Run, Paula Beck and her husband William of Weedville and Cynthia Pickles and her husband John of Lewisville, NC; two sons, Edward Frey of Greensboro, NC and Kevin Frey of Ridgway; 24 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and two sisters, Martha Baumer, her twin sister, of Altoona and Mary Durling of Pittsburgh.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three daughters, Patricia Pfoutz, Marilyn Jager and Susan Schutz; five sisters, Bernadette Card, Celeste Bures, Salome Schreiber, Cecelia Cicetello and Eva Grotzinger; and four brothers, Paul Auman, Eugene Auman, Francis Auman and Jerome Auman.
Mrs. Frey was a member of the St. Mary’s Church and T.O.P.S.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Mary’s Church on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Meinrad Lawson, OSB, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Monday, February 25, 2013, from 2-4 and 6-9 PM.
