Helen T. Bauer, 69, of 228 Church Street, St. Marys, passed away Monday, August 27, 2012 at the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh after a brief illness.
She was born May 3, 1943 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Martin and Mildred Lynch Tomaski. She was a former resident of Johnsonburg and was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School, Class of 1961. She was a former employee of Osram Sylvania.
On July 22, 1967 in the Holy Rosary Church, she married Michael H. Bauer, Jr., who survives. She is also survived by a daughter, Roseann (Glenn) Crissman of St. Marys; six sons, Roger (Georgia) Bauer of Erie, Paul Bauer of Arlington, VA, Patrick (Jessica) Bauer of St. Marys, Kevin (Kim) Bauer of St. Marys, Jeff (Kate) Bauer of St. Marys and Randy Bauer of Gibsonia, PA; and 11 grandchildren, Hayden Lewandowski, Evan Lewandowski, Helena Bauer, Camryn Bauer, Luke Bauer, Alex Bauer, Garrett Bauer, Rebekka Bauer, Kolby Bauer, Noah Crissman and Gavin Crissman. Also surviving are two brothers, Martin Tomaski, Jr. of Johnsonburg and William Tomaski of Johnsonburg.
Mrs. Bauer was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and was a former cook at St. Joseph’s Monastery and the St. Mary’s Priory.
There will be no visitation.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
