Helen M. Bauer, 87, of 461 Main Street, Kersey, passed away Monday, January 12, 2015, at Penn Highlands Elk after a brief illness.
She was born April 4, 1927 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Maurice and Sadie Rigard Gillen. She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Marys Schools. She was a former employee of Pure Carbon Company.
On October 11, 1944 in the St. Mary’s Church, she married Donald W. Bauer, who survives. She is also survived by three daughters, Joyce Lander and her husband Tom of St. Marys, Donna Parker and her husband George of Delaware, and Lois Fye and her husband Tom of St. Marys; nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; one great, great granddaughter; and a brother, Howard Gillen of Kersey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John H. Bauer; and a brother, Paul Gillen.
Mrs. Bauer was a member of the Queen of the World Church.
There will be no visitation.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Queen of the World Church on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Richard Allen, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
