Guido J. Martini

Guido J. Martini, 83, of 228 Fairview Road, Kersey, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016, at Elk Haven Nursing Home, after a lengthy illness.

He was born August 15, 1933, in Brandy Camp, son of the late John and Angeline Pettite Martini. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Horton Township High School.  He was a retired employee of the Stackpole Carbon Company, retiring in 1995 after 45 years of service.

On May 10, 1950, in the St. Boniface Church, he married Anna M. Harvey, who survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Lisa Myers and her husband Donald of St. Marys and Connie Gornati and her husband Mark of DuBois; three grandchildren, Br. Benet (Brian) Myers, O.S.B., of the St. Louis Abbey in St. Louis, MO, BryAnna Gornati of Denver, CO, and Brooke Gornati of DuBois; and three brothers, Mario Martini of Kersey, John Martini and his wife Marian of Brockway, and George Martini of Rochester, NY.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Silvio and Joseph Martini.

Guido was a member of the St. Boniface Church and was a veteran of the US Army Reserves. He was a former President of the St. Marys ATV Riders Club.  He volunteered for many functions at St. Boniface Church and School and was also a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.  He was an avid hunter and he loved the outdoors.  Guido was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

There will be no visitation.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the St. Boniface Church on Monday, December 12, 2016, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Ross Miceli, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
