Grace J. Sestina, 90, a resident of Silver Creek Terrace, St. Marys, passed away Saturday evening, October 6, 2012 at the Elk Haven Nursing Home.
She was born June 16, 1922 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Michael H. and Barbara A. Schreiber Wolf. She was a graduate of St. Marys Public High School, Class of 1940. She lived in Ridgway for 17 years following her marriage to John E. Sestina on January 11, 1946. She moved to Rockville, MD in 1962. In 1969, she moved to Silver Spring, MD where she worked at Vitro Automation, which was affiliated with the US Navy Department, until her retirement in 1987. She returned to St. Marys in June 1987, where she spent the rest of her life.
She is survived by a sister, Irma L. Catalone of St. Marys, three nieces, four nephews, four great nieces and one great nephew.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Hoffman Stebick, who passed away in 1972.
Mrs. Sestina was a member of the Sacred Heart Church.
There will be no visitation.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at 12:00 PM with the Rev. Daniel Wolfel, OSB, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to a favorite charity.
