Glenn E. Bauer

Glenn E. “Glennie” Bauer, 91, of 602 Center Street, St. Marys, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Pinecrest Manor.

He was born July 23, 1930, in St. Marys, son of the late Henry and Louise Knight Bauer.  Glenn was a lifelong resident of the area, attended St. Marys schools, and was retired from Stackpole.

On June 18, 1954, in the Sacred Heart Church, Glenn married the late Margaret “Peg” McKnight Bauer, who passed away on January 7, 2022.

He is survived by two daughters: Linda Larkin (Charles) of Brockport and Leslie Bauer (Lee) of St. Marys; three sons: Timothy Bauer (Kelly) of St. Marys, David Bauer (Kathy) of Virginia, and Wade Bauer (Paula) of St. Marys; seven grandchildren: Cole, Marissa, Chelsie, Ryan, Hayley, Robbie, and Allen; and by seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by two sisters: Vivian Sobreiski and Alice Meyer; and by four brothers: Lamar Bauer, Donald Bauer, Melvin Bauer, and Howard Bauer.  He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Glenn was a member of the Sacred Heart Church. He was an outdoorsman, always finding enjoyment fishing, hunting, and at camp.  Glenn put his family above everything else and cherished every moment with them.

There will be no visitation.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, with the Rev. Thomas Curry, OSB, Pastor, officiating.  Full military rites will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail.  Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to a favorite charity.
